Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Employment Development Hosts Federal to Future Career Transition Expo to Support Displaced Federal Employees
Baltimore, MD – Recent federal policy changes have resulted in significant job losses across our community, impacting many dedicated workers. The Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Employment Development (MOED) remains steadfast in its commitment to economic justice, ensuring that every affected worker has access to the resources and opportunities needed to transition into meaningful employment.
To support displaced federal employees, MOED, alongside its partners, is hosting the Federal to Future Career Transition Expo—the first of many initiatives aimed at connecting skilled professionals with employers eager to hire. This event serves as a vital resource for those navigating career transitions. Public and private sector employers are slated to attend including the Baltimore City Health Department, Baltimore City Department of Transportation, Johns Hopkins, Baltimore City Community College, LifeBridge Health, MedStar, and many more.
"MOED stands with Baltimore’s workers during this challenging time. Through the Federal to Future Career Transition Expo and our ongoing workforce initiatives, we are committed to providing displaced federal employees with the support and connections they need to secure meaningful employment and continue contributing their skills to our city’s economy," said MacKenzie Garvin, Esq., Director of the Mayor’s Office of Employment Development.
“Baltimore is a city of opportunity, driven by resilience, innovation, and a dynamic workforce. Whether in the public or private sector, there’s a place for you to grow, lead, and thrive here. As we navigate these workforce shifts, we remain committed to ensuring that every worker has access to the resources they need to build a strong future. Your skills and talent are invaluable to the success of our city,” said Mayor Brandon M. Scott.
